Essential lines and neutral colors meet architectural purity in the project achieved by Modularity Home, based at The Peninsula Hotel in Makati, Manila, Philippines, and designed by Lor Calma & Partners, under the guidance of the Architect Ed Calma.
“The proposed kitchen represents the perfect balance between materic research and aesthetic purity, fully in tune with the architectural mood of the house” says Brian Hontiveros, General Manager of Modularity Home.
Materic search
Functional yet stylish, the composition distinguishes itself by a Carrara Marble slanted worktop edge with a 45° cut angle, which allows for easy opening of the doors. The end panels recall the same finish and the same worktop thickness, for a really light visual effect.
The island is key in this kitchen: the wide worktop, thanks to the Origami breakfast bar, becomes a real convivial table. The choice of Tactile Walnut, paired with the Matt Smoke Lacquer finish, adds warmth to the whole environment. This refined finish is also visible on the profile that runs underneath the island worktop, a precious detail that enhances the composition.

Customization and ergonomics
The composition is completed by practical and ergonomic solutions, created to offer greater functionality in the kitchen area. That's when New Logica System comes into play: top lift-up doors and downward sliding bottom doors open and close just by using one finger, to reveal and hide when desired, all the back panel equipment; a patented element that can be set up as needed, with the option to accommodate the hood as well.
Interior drawers' accessories follow the same logic; they can be customized as desired and they allow to organize the space, by creating room for each item while keeping everything tidy and handy.

Lighting: focus of the project
“In order to contribute further to our daily wellbeing, while enjoying the kitchen space, light plays a key role: the luminous back panel of the Special Elements lights up the space and sets the visual free, just like sunlight coming through the window” concludes Brian Hontiveros.
