Milan Design Week 2025 unveils next year theme

Connected Worlds is the theme of Milan Design Week 2025, an inspiration that promotes participatory and generative design, celebrating the art of engagement through design and artificial intelligence.

This theme invites us to reflect on how design can play a fundamental role in connecting different dimensions of our lives, from the natural environment to advanced technologies, from cultural traditions to future innovations. Connected Worlds is an invitation to design not only to express creativity and ingenuity but also to promote a sense of unity and global cooperation.

Connections can be understood in many ways:

1. Connection between physical and digital worlds: Artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), and smart devices interact to improve the quality of life in homes and cities.

The theme Connected Worlds reflects some of the most prominent themes that emerged during the latest Milan Design Week, where connections were the protagonists, involving the public, companies, and professionals in the field.

“Architectural Scenarios” at last edition of Milan Design Week he embodied precisely this spirit of connection between different cultures: a connected world in design by integrating diverse perspectives, diverse practices, design and architectural approaches, fostering cultural dialogue, embracing technological innovation, promoting sustainability, and offering immersive experiences that resonate with contemporary global trends in architecture and design.

Connected Worlds is also configured as a continuation of the themes addressed in previous editions of Milan Design Week. From the 2024 theme Material Nature, which explored the multiple dimensions in which nature can be a source of inspiration, design material, and a guide for a sustainable future, to Forms of Living, Between Space and Time, and Future Laboratory, tracing a path that supports the values of a conscious design culture attentive to new forms of knowledge that influence the context in which design operates.
