A made in Italy design kitchen, user friendly on a daily family routine, but also for a business or friendly gathering: this was the goal of Modularity Home at Quezon City project, the widest city in the metropolitan area of Manila (Philippines), well known for its urban parks and sparkly cultural background.

“One of the biggest challenges has been showing a design proposal suitable to the new lifestyle of the owners, that, during the pandemic, have discovered the importance of home” says Brian Hontiveros, General Manager at Modularity Home.
“Before the lockdown, the contractors, a couple of business owners with kids, with a passion for furniture and design, used to spend most of their time away from home. Now, their home has become their world. Mainly, the kitchen has become their world. Mainly, the kitchen has become their most used room, where everyone can seat, eat, chat and work” continues Hontiveros. “That's where the request to have a fluid environment with a luxurious kitchen came from – a kitchen that would grant high standards with an elegant design and timeless beauty”.

Before the renovation, the space partition was not very functional, and the kitchen was a bit sacrificed. The layout has been revisited and the wall partitions have been removed, in order to have a much wider space where to live different moments of the day.
The choice of the kitchen fell on Genius Loci (design by Gabriele Centazzo) based on a tradition of made in Italy design, conviviality and the cult of beauty.
Its distinctive feature is the undercounter drawer, a “secret” space inspired by the ancient secrétaire. Genius result achieved thanks to the worktop dematerialization, the drawer is a functional element and a precious detail which goes through the matter of surfaces. Here is showed in Cardoso Stone slanted version, consciously contrasting with the glass of the kitchen doors and worktop. It gives as more catchy result, as a cut on a painting.
The timeless beauty is strengthened by the choice of finishes, selected among the most noble and precious ones such as the glass, a very expressive material coloured here in Kamut and Earthy Yellow shades and the natural stone, material of great charm that adds character to the environment.
“Having an open environment also means the need to keep everything in order. Thanks to Valcucine solutions, it is possible to elegantly hide the operational part” explains Hontiveros.
Here is Air Logica Special Element, the equipped back panel that reveals and hides when needed all the kitchen accessories. The leading principle of Valcucine “everything close at hand, everything tidy in an instant” turns into a functional space which adapts to the person's needs in its continuous evolution.
To further enhance ergonomics, Air Logica door is moved with the simple hand gesture. Without touching anything, thanks to the gesture technology of V-Motion system, it is possible to open and close even large sized doors, up to 360 cm high, in the most silent and smooth way. In the same way, it is possible to change the colour of the luminous back panel, choosing the light that best suits you. Functionality meets beauty and the kitchen turns into a striking setting.
