In Valencia, a modern kitchen blends with the spirit of the place
Timeless design and innovation converge in the kitchen renovation of a single-family villa nestled on the outskirts of Valencia. The new layout, modern yet functional, has been carefully crafted to meet the owners' present-day needs, while still preserving the home's original soul. The chosen model for this transformation is Genius Loci, a kitchen designed to honor the memory of the place through tactile effects and refined details.
The challenge for the Valcucine Valencia | Metrocuadrado team was to blend the new design seamlessly with the villa's existing architectural elements, maintaining a perfect harmony between past and present. Original features, such as the marble floor with its elegant black-and-white graphic motif and the exposed brick wall, guided the entire design concept.

These elements, rich with history, inspired the selection of colors and finishes, establishing a serene connection between the old and the new. The floor dialogues with Vitrum, tinted in similar hues, and with the natural Cardoso stone, which enhances both the countertop and the under-counter drawer of Genius Loci. The glass finish amplifies the contrast between marble and brick, reflecting light and imbuing the space with an unmistakable, authentic character.
A further challenge of the project lay in the optimization of the operational space: not one, but two islands were designed to elevate functionality.
The layout of this modern kitchen divides the areas for cooking, washing, and preparation, ensuring perfect ergonomics and fluid movement, even when multiple hands are at work.

Yet the design never loses sight of the social aspect: the kitchen is not merely a space for cooking, but the very heart of the home, meant to be lived in throughout the day. To this end, a cozy corner with seating and stools was created, an inviting space to work, unwind, or savor a coffee while someone else tends to the stove. Completing the project are high-end appliances, including a column wine cellar, in perfect harmony with the owners' passion for fine wines.
The team at Valcucine Valencia | Metrocuadrado approached this modern kitchen's renewal as an act of stylistic continuity, selecting pure materials and sophisticated finishes that blend with the home's existing atmosphere.
The fusion of Vitrum, natural stone, and solid wood brings coherence and elegance to the space, transforming the kitchen into a sanctuary that celebrates the timeless balance between innovation and memory.
