DOM SHOWROOM AND VALCUCINE NY PRESENTS “IN

DOM and Valcucine NY are pleased to announce the opening of “In Glass”, a curated exhibition of products designed with glass; a material for the future.  The exhibit features work by and designers Thom Mayne, Alessandro Mendini, and Winka Dubbeldam, utilizing the technique perfected by Valcucine called the Artematica Vitrum Arte.  Coinciding with New York Week and The International Contemporary Furniture Fair, “IN GLASS” will open in the DOM/Valcucine Showroom at 66 Crosby Street on Friday, May 14th.

DOM will debut revolutionary new Valcucine cabinetry in an exhibition highlighting the benefits of glass as a design material.

Artematica is “high technology and environmentally friendly”, it is a designed to have a low impact on the environment.  Artematica applies advanced technologies to creating a product of unsurpassed quality. Thanks to research into and application of special innovative technologies, this door respects the four basic principles of environmental-responsibility: minimal consumption of raw materials and energy, durability, recyclability and non-toxicity.

Artematica Vitrum Arte Kitchens allows the artist to create customized glass art work within the Valcucine kitchen panels.  This is an inlay technique of applying colorful films on to glass perfected by Valcucine.

An opening reception will be sponsored by Architects Newspaper, Architizer, Largetail, Macallan and Hi Prosecco.

Famed Chef Peter Hoffman of Savoy restaurant, dedicated to seasonal and local ingredients will also be on hand to prepare a special hors d'oeuvres tasting menu for the event.
