Laminate
Resistance and versatility
Laminate is a coating material obtained using several layers of paper soaked in thermosetting resin and bonded at a high temperature. It is often viewed as a material that decreases the quality of furniture. As a matter of fact, it’s useful to know that there are various types of laminate. Valcucine uses HPL (High Pressure Laminate) for which sheets of paper are compacted by the combined action of heat and high pressure. The resulting product offers excellent quality thanks to its functional and aesthetic properties. Practical and easy to clean, laminate guarantees excellent resistance to stains and to chemical agents as well as moderate scratch resistance. These features make it particularly suitable for furniture parts subject to lots of stress such as kitchen worktops. Although it offers good resistance to heat, great care must be taken to avoid direct contact with red hot objects. Laminate is a very versatile material capable of aesthetically imitating all surfaces in terms of colour and texture.
